Generating Sales from a Web Site

Sales can be taken from web sites in many forms. Traditional methods are always a safe way to offer the purchaser a means to pay for your goods, but they do not offer the ability to produce sales as efficiently and simply as automatic secure transactions using a credit card. Two forms of secure commerce are available, manual credit processing and automatic real-time credit processing.

Manual Credit Processing

Manual credit processing uses a SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) server which allows users to transmit their personal information and credit card number in an encrypted form. This information is stored on the server for retrieval by your company using a secure e-mail or faxed directly to your preset fax number. The credit card then needs to be processed manually and the order filled.

Automatic Real-time Credit Processing

Automatic credit processing also uses SSL web pages. This setup allows for a greater amount of transactions since the transaction do not require manual processing. The server automatically verifies the credit card number and process the transaction. The server then forwards your company a e-mail with the specifics of the order for shipping.
