If
you use Outlook to view mai, a useful tool for deleting
SPAM is MailWasher. It allows you to preview your
mail
on the server in a text based format, and then mark messages
as
SPAM and for deletion right on the server, before they are
retreived into Outlook.
Check out and download MailWasher.
If your site has e-mail addresses listed openly, this
is likely a major source of SPAM. SPAMbots crawl the web
storing e-mails into thier databases for mailings. We can cloak
your e-mail addresses on the web, to prevent them from being
harvested. I recommend also creating new addresses, and slowly
transfering all legitimate correspondance to those addresses,
fazing out the out old addresses till no vaild e-mails are being
sent through. (About 2-3 months).
I also recomend using a junk e-mail account, which can be used
to signup for accounts online.
I have found very few online systems which actually caputre your
email adddress and send you junk mail, but if you use a seperate
email address for this, you can prolong the life of your valid
account longer before you find you need to change it.
