The Challenge
To provide a highly animated splash screen and interactive home
page navigational interface for a web site redevelopment. Target
market of highly trained and skilled technological workers across
the globe.
The Proposal
Utilize Flash 4.0TM from Macromedia software to develop
a highly animated logo along with a dynamic home page navigational
interface.
The Development
Developing in Flash 4.0TM allows compressed files sizes
and an extremely interactive dynamic interface. Utilizing this cutting
edge interface design allowed an animation not available with older
web animation techniques.
The resulting animation contains 110 frames. A GIF animation of
the same style would have resulted in a file size of over 250 kilobytes
but by using Flash the file is compressed to a compact 11 kilobytes.
This allows a fast download for the splash screen and scaleable
graphics which are sharp and fill the enitire browser window regardless
of the monitor size or screen resolution.
